Practice Description:
Mr. Hill concentrates his practice on construction and general litigation. He has represented owners, lenders, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in mediations, arbitrations and trial court litigation.  He understands that each dispute requires its own unique approach and that approach is not always through litigation.  Some disputes require a creative solution to the complex problem.

Mr. Hill is admitted to practice in Washington and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

He was also recently selected as a "Rising Star" by Washington Law and Politics Magazine for 2010.

Representative Cases:
  • Represented roofing contractor in an arbitration against owner for work performed on shopping mall. Obtained an award from arbitrator in full amount of claim, plus interest and fees
  • Represented developer in arbitration against general contractor for defective work. Obtained an award from arbitrator in full amount of claim, plus interest and attorneys fees.
  • Represented construction lender in dispute with competing lien claimants after developer’s insolvency. Obtained a favorable summary judgment ruling against one of the lien claimants and negotiated a creative settlement of case that resulted in recovery of principal owed to lender and fees.
  • Represented general contractor seeking recovery of a seven figure contract balance against the owner.  In that case he successfully defended a challenge to the general contractor’s lien and settled the case favorably days before the arbitration
